Daily SCHEDULE

  • Grade 7 at 8:30AM - 9:30AM
  • Grade 8 at 8:30AM - 9:30AM

ASSESSMENT

  • 55% of grade self-assessment of performance and effort in PE/Health.

  • 30% of grade comes from written and performance tests.

  • 5% of grade comes from homework assignment of writing about five plays that the student participated on in Fuel Up to Play 60 website, which is self-assessed.  The students will be giving these scores verbally to the physical education teacher.

  • 5% of grade comes from self-assessing how much exercise student had during recess on a daily basis,  which is turned in to the physical education teacher on time on a specific date (see Recess Exercise Assignment below).

  • 5% of grade comes from self-assessing what five food groups the student ate during lunch on a daily basis, which is turned in to the physical education teacher on time on a specific date (see Lunch Nutrition Assignment below).

  • Extra credit is offered throughout the year via social media (Twitter) and by the physical education teacher.

  • IMPORTANT: All written tests can be retaken within a week before the grades are due, if student approaches the physical education teacher and schedules a time for the retake of the test.


Self-Assessment

  • ​​Students will self-assess their own performance and effort in regards to social responsibility, performance in lesson, being prepared for the lesson and based on student expectations.
    • 3 - is the highest score a student can achieve, which means that the student care about self and others by performing all of the student expectations in physical education to the best of his or hers ability.
    • ​2 - is the middle score a student can achieve, which means that the student care about self only by performing all of the student expectations in physical education to the best of his or hers ability. It could include not being prepared for lesson, or interfere with instruction in lesson.
    • ​1 - is the lowest score a student can achieve, which means that the student did not care about self by not performing in accordance to the student expectations in physical education to the best of his or hers ability. It includes any actions that harms the possibility of an educational experience in the classroom.
    • 0 - is only achieved when the student intentionally decide to harm the academic setting by stealing, lying, or cheating on assignments in the classroom. It is a score that can only be handed out by the physical education teacher, which will be reviewed and recorded with the administration of Boone Elementary. Parents will be notified if such an occurrence takes place.
