PE & Health Project Learning Goals

  • ​​​Define fitness and wellness
  • Be able to remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluating, and creating a personal project in PE and health using following concepts: goal setting, fitness, seven dimensions of wellness, fitness continuum, five components of fitness, FITT principle, rest, six muscle groups, exercise safety, and nutrition.
  • Enhance social and emotional development by strengthen personal voice, identity, self-esteem, and self-worth by taking initiative, use creativity, risk taking, opportunity for higher order thinking, and authentically build on a personal future.
  • Be able to form their own wellness goals to what is meaningful to their lives.
  • Experience how fitness continuum and physical challenges are related with success in all seven dimensions of wellness.
  • Through experience be able to create personal wellness programs that achieves the intended goals to be a lifetime mover.
  • Reflect on personal exercise habits in homework assignments
  • Enhance physical education knowledge through personal research, as skill necessary to be a lifetime mover.
  • Exercise to fatigue
  • Enhance the students team building skills by being a self-starter and by leading by example and listen to others when they share their perspectives by listening with the intention to understand and learn.
  • Provide a final presentation of their own project via a medium of their choice to enhance personal voice.
